The 31%er's

The National Association of REALTORS® 2011 Profile of Home Buyers and Sellers reports that the Echo Boomers, also known as "millennials" -those ages between 18-34- represent 31 percent of all recent home purchases.

In the next two decades the 62 million Echo Boomers will be the most active clients for today's REALTORS®.  While they may be delaying their home purchases in today's economy, most aspire to homeownership.

More so than their baby boomer parents, the echo boomers are more racially and ethnically diverse.  65% of baby boomers are Caucasian, only 55% of echo boomers are Caucasian.  Echo boomers are more likely to be college educated than prior generations and they are remaining single longer.
