When a buyer writes an offer on your home, they are expressing interest in your home and the offer should be treated with respect. After all, up until now no one had offered tens of thousands of dollars for your home. Real estate agents are required to present all offers to their sellers. You have several options.
You can accept the offer as written, counter the offer, reject the offer without a counter or instruct your agent not to accept any offer from this buyer.
If you have priced your home at market value as recommended by your agent and supported by “sold comps” and other market reports you know your home’s value and can respond accordingly.
